Big Fish, Small Taiwan
Last night was our weekly Wednesday Night Bowling. While we were there we ran into one of the local moviestars from Taiwan (馬念先). He had just done a main role in the 2nd most successful movie in Taiwan history, Cape No. 7 (Here is the movie trailer with english subtitles). We did bother him and get a picture (thank you!), and it reminded me that Taiwan is a small place.
I have participated in two events where I’ve gotten to hear the President of Taiwan speak, in 8 months of living here. It’s cool to be somewhere you can run into famous people from time to time. BTW, yes that is another Wisconsonite pimping the Leinenkugels shirt

just happen to find your blog and it’s awesome.. anyway, do you mind sharing where do you play bowling in taipei?
Thanks for the question! Unfortunately, I have moved from Taipei now and live in Hong Kong. The place we went bowling was in Shi Lin (right near the night market). There are actually 2 bowling alleys there, 1 you can see from the MRT (it’s a big building all by itself). That one we didn’t like and was too expensive. In the actual ShiLin night market area there’s a place called Jungle Bowling. It’s also got a video arcade and the bowling alley is in the 2nd floor basement (B2). It’s a fun place to go, they’ve got music video’s playing on the walls above the lanes and there’s lots of young people there. I hope you find a good place to go!!
